SUCCESSFUL PROSECUTIONS
HAVE HELPED PROTECT OUR WAY OF LIFE
Fort Bend County enjoys a high quality of life,
blending the best qualities of rural and suburban
lifestyles. Our communities are served well by
outstanding school districts, strong families and
businesses, and sound, conservative government at
all levels. Fort Bend County’s advanced police
agencies and skilled team of prosecutors combine to
help protect this way of life.
According to the F.B.I. statistics, for the last
nine years, Fort Bend County has enjoyed the lowest
crime rate of seven counties surrounding Houston.
Our crime rate is lower than Harris County,
Montgomery County, Liberty County, Chambers County,
Galveston County, and Brazoria County.
Since 1992 John Healey and his growing team of
prosecutors have maintained a standard of excellence
and success in their work. Since 2006, the office
has won many successful prosecutions on a number of
high profile cases. Also, the office has placed a
priority on the protection of our most innocent
crime victims – our children. The Child Abuse
Prosecution Division consists of a team of five
attorneys who are led by a very hard working and
talented attorney as its chief.
Most noteworthy of a long string of successful
prosecutions by the Child
Abuse
Division are the following cases:
Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child
cases against defendants Kevin James Bramwell,
Willlie Alvin Griffin, Jr., and Timothy James Anglin
Outcome of case:
Each defendant received a
life sentence.
Promotion of Child Pornography and
Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child
cases against defendant Paul Camille Adams
Outcome of case:
Defendant received a combined
sentence of 70 years.
Injury to a Child by
Omission against DeMario Lee-Andre Williams
in which the child was covered in bruises from head
to toe.
Outcome of case:
Defendant received a 40
year sentence.
Capital Murder of a Child
case against defendant Jamie Lynn Mosby Williams for
beating a 23 month old child to death from head to
toe.
Outcome of case:
Defendant received a
Life sentence.
Capital Murder of a Child
case against defendant Pete Marin III for killing a
10 month old boy
Outcome of case:
Defendant received a
life sentence without parole.
The protection of children and adults through our
Domestic Violence Prosecution Division has been
another priority of my office. Two activities of my
office which can assist in ending the cycle of
domestic violence abuse are providing assistance in
obtaining protective orders, and holding the
batterer accountable through aggressive
prosecution.
Successful prosecutions in the Domestic Violence
Division include:
The Murder
case against defendant Victor Zavala who stabbed his wife
to death
Outcome of case:
Judge reset case for sentencing at a later date
The Aggravated
Assault case against defendant David Salazar
Outcome of case:
defendant was convicted of four cases of aggravated
assault and received
four 35 year sentences
The Aggravated
Assault case against defendant Timothy
Williams
Outcome of case:
defendant received
two life
sentences
“You
don’t want to come to Fort Bend County and commit a
crime.”
That is the message that Healey’s team of successful
prosecutors seeks to send to would-be criminals in
our community.
Other
high profile convictions include:
The
Capital Murder case against Bart Whitaker for the murder of his mother
and brother
Outcome of case:
Whitaker received the
death penalty
The “Morbid
Curiosity” murder of Ashton Glover case
against Matt McCombs

year sentence
The

50 year sentence
for her role in the robbery-killing of Mrs. Fields
of Weston Lakes

and Damien Freddie

60 years to life

The Theft case
against defendant Joey Sula

Ironically, one of Healey’s opponents took the
witness stand for the criminal! In essence, he told
the jury that he felt that Sula had done nothing
wrong!!
