AGGRESSIVE PROSECUTION
PROTECTING OUR CITIZENS
During the last
nine
years, Fort Bend County has enjoyed the lowest crime
rate of any of the seven counties that make up the
greater Houston area.
This is due in large part to our county’s high
caliber of law enforcement and aggressive
prosecution. Approximately 2,500 felony cases and
6,000 misdemeanor cases are filed each year. Our
team of 45 criminal law and juvenile law prosecutors
is successfully addressing these cases in the
courtroom. Noteworthy successful prosecutions during
the last four years have included:
The Bart Whitaker Capital Murder case from Sugar
Land, the Pete Marin III Capital Murder of a Child,
Matt McCombs “morbid curiosity” murder case, and the
Tamina Hamid and Joseph Flores, Jr. cases of
Attempted Capital Murder of a Peace Officer stemming
from a robbery and subsequent high speed chase.
