CRIME VICTIMS HAVE A
STRONG VOICE
The feelings and desires
of crime victims are of great importance to me.
Whether through court accompaniment, through
responding to inquiries about specific cases, or to
notifying victims as to court settings and case
results, our Victim’s Assistance Division has
compassionately and professionally been a strong
voice for crime victims as they seek to be heard by
prosecutors, courts, the public, and criminal
defendants. In 2000, our present Victim’s Assistance
coordinator was the recipient of the Texas Crime
Victim’s Clearinghouse Service Award in a
Prosecution Based Program for her efforts in
assisting crime victims.
Each victim of crime receives information from this
division about the procedures associated with their
criminal case. Additionally, the Victims Assistance
Coordinators and secretaries function as contact
persons when answers and understanding seem far
away.
